Regarding the choice of words, the lyricist probably looked up the English translation of “악마” or something and got Lucifer. It is a synonym for devil. They’re just lyrics after all.

I really doubt this song is demonic. If you look at it, I think it’s comparing this girl to Lucifer. Satan is called the great tempter, and I think this girl tempted whoever into love then became overbearing and obsessive in the relationship so that they were trapped. But, every time he hears her voice, it tempts him again. Thus the “Her whisper is the Lucifer” meaning the temptation.
I highly doubt they worship Satan since neither their music or lyrics even come close to hinting at it. If they were, the religion would reflect . . .

I know some people will see the title and make assumptions but actually READING the lyrics might help you there. It yields nothing in that direction for me. It’s simply as someone said above that the love in the relationship of the lyrics has become obsessive and controlling. How does that venerate Lucifer exactly?
This just reminds me of the flipside of Brown Eyed Girl’s Abracadabra. I assumed that was what the lyricist was trying to do. But seeing as no one’s actually asked the lyricist what was meant or intended don’t you think it’s kind of rude to assume the lowest common denominator? Or is it just easy to suggest the worst with a name like the title? All it really puts across is that whoever didn’t bother reading the translation – or worse, didn’t care – but would do well battling with real evils rather than creating imaginary ones.
Unless, of course, the intent was to divide everyone with fear and paranoia while projecting pseudo-righteousness – none of which serves God, by the way. So failure on all fronts.
ps – Is it just me or is Tae-min a really good dancer? I keep wondering if it’s youthful exuberence, the fact that he really enjoys dancing, or if he’s just very talented. Was he doing an MJ move near the end when he’s in the sewer set? Looked like it to me.

uh, so of course when I first heard this I didn’t understand it, but it had a catchy sound and it’s from SHINee which is why I liked it. I searched for the translation and I stumbled on this site. I read the comments and this is what I gotta say, whatever the meaning of this song is, if the lyricist is referring to the actual devil or to the term ‘devil’, we cannot say this song is crap. Songs have poetic license and no one can fully interpret the true meaning of a song except for the writer himself. And besides, everyone has their own beliefs so you can’t just say, this song is crap don’t listen to it, just because you BELIEVE so. and also the other way around, one can’t just say, I so so love this song so all you there who gives a different meaning to this are stupid, just because he LIKE the song. so yeah, let’s just support the singer if we want to, and stay quiet if we don’t because they’re not doing anything that’s harming anyone
